I'm not saying that God of War isn't fantastic, it certainly is and the graphics are better then DMC3. Take the pretty limited custom combo work with God of War and add manual on-the-fly weapon switching, 5 unique fighting styles with their own weapons and manuevers, gained experience and upgrading/enhancing attacks or outright buying new attacks and you have DMC3.įunny thing is, both games came out around the same time as one another. The combat system of DMC3 I think is leagues beyond what God of War accomplished.
The enemies are more difficult, the entire game really is more difficult and longer lasting. The boss battles are FAR more difficult, and numerous. Yeah personally I think Devil May Cry 3 is better then God of War. The more active game is DMC, the slower paced game is GoW. The fighting in god of war helps you by automattically locking on and the varrios moves have little effect on the enemey besides the heavy attacks.
While god of war is more about timing button combanations and making sure to block before they attack(ive only played on god mode). DMC focuses mainly on dodging and learning how to stick to the enemy using varios techniques to batter the enemy senseless. Just take one style (say swordmaster) and it will be completely different. The difference of DMC3 to GoW is the gameplay system in DMC3 you can choice your own style to trickster,swordmaster,gunslinger,royalguard,quicksilver and doppleganger,dante have 5 different guns and weapons and to many upgrades just like god of war but for god of war you have only 2 so for me DMC3 is the best you can have your own style and you can make your own combo just like mixing some weapon combination of two and perfoming your style of choice.the only thing in God of war surely the gameplay and has so many special features and great storyline and characters that get in greek mythology so that's why its a 2nd to the top game of year 2005.
